The Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) certification program for clients
and servers, which was developed and is operated by The Open Group, certifies
conformance to the WAP 2.0 specifications published by the Open Mobile Alliance™(OMA).
 Benefits
The program benefits both customers and vendors by:

and interoperability
- Matching the level of assurance to the needs of
the particular application
Under the program, vendor guarantee conformance to specification. This guarantee
ensures that products conform to a specification, remain conformant throughout
the life of the product’s registration, and any non-conformance will
be promptly fixed. All current certified products are listed in the Certified
Products Register.

Development
testing services for WAP
As many companies do not have the facilities to cater for extensive
development and pre-certification testing of products, The Open Group offers
access to test suites containing identical tests to those available in the
WAP certification programs in a framework customized specifically for development
testing of products.
Testing service options:
- Online
Subscription Service with group or individual access to the online
test suites enables cost-effective product testing in a live environment
- Download
Service of the test suites, with or without the online access, is suitable
for companies interested in performing development testing in a controlled
environment. This option allows companies to perform extensive in-house
testing without concerns of external interruptions like ISP problems, to
schedule maintenance updates to fit in with testing schedules, and to add
new tests within the framework.

Mark
If you wish to use the WAP Certification Mark, you must enter into a Certification
Mark License Agreement with The Open Group. This agreement describes how
you may use the WAP certification mark on or in relation to your certified product. If
you sign the agreement, you will receive a certificate for your product, which
incorporates the WAP Certified logo.
